Xerox – The pioneer in photocopying field was founded in 1905 as The Haloid Photographic Company, had changed its name 3 times in the starting phase and finally fixed its name as Xerox since 1961.

Xerox name came from the word Xeroxgraphy, which is combination of two Greek roots: Dry Writing.

Since Xerox was the pioneer in Electro Photography which was dry in nature, the management thought to adapt it as the name itself.

Naming of Xerox is a history in itself; Xerox has been proudly associated with the service it offers – photocopying.

It has been noted quiet largely that people perceived Xerox to be the Synonym of Photocopying – A proud shot for Xerox.
