Why was Red Hat Named “Red Hat”
Co-founder Bob Young believed that Red is perceived as symbol of freedom and there are many examples in history with revolutionaries in both America and France donning red caps during their uprisings.
And the Co-Founder Marc Ewing had affinity towards red hats and loved wearing the “red lacrosse hat” of his grandfather during his time at Carnegie Mellon, which he lost and had also referred in the beta release of Red Hat with a plea to return the hat whosoever has got it.
