Redmond based software giant is almost ready to launch Windows 8 with the most significant fundamental changes since its Windows 95 days.

Metro Rocks

Interface for Windows 8 is codenamed Metro User Interface.

There is no denying the fact that Microsoft’s import from Windows Phone, the famous METRO UI, is a breath of fresh air.

A good starting point to the brand new Windows 8 experience is the ability of Metro supported apps to show live updates on the Start screen (otherwise called as active tiles) , and the ability to pin any app there.  However, this interface is only perfect for a touch enabled devices – like a tablet or smartphone – and interacting with a mouse and keyboard reduces its charm.
Charms Bar
A lot of Metro effect you can see in the Windows 8’s Charm bar which is similar to the Start Menu of earlier versions of Windows.

There are very tweaks in interface like tiles on the home screen and Charm bar in Windows 8 which you can access from anywhere no issue whatever work or application is running on i.e. kind of accessing applications running in background.

Right side of the screen a new menu bar incorporated known as ‘Charms Bar’. Take your Mouse cursor to the right side edge to reveal the all new Charms Bar – a help pop –up that runs across apps and windows in Window 8. Also taking the cursor to the left top reveals the previous app, while the left bottom reveals Metro and if you scroll from top to left along the left edge, we see a list of all running apps right then and there. Great for multitasking. Windows 7’s ribbon interface is muted and will only reveal itself when you press on the top bar.

In Windows 8’s Charm bar five main elements are there:

1. Search :Here without opening the browser, typing in search bar, you can perform your search and can find results in left pane.

2. Share :This feature is in built in windows 8, i.e. default is email and can install apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc. and can share on it.

3. Start :In windows 8, you can see tiles represent the all installed apps. The Start is same as the Home screen which you see on mostly touch devices.

Tiles can be dynamic or static i.e. without opening an app you can be able to track associated app such as emails, chat- messages and other apps that suitable for this feature.

4. Devices : This feature will give you information about the device and the devices attached to Windows 8 computer.

5. Settings : This setting pane allows you to access setting quickly for volume, network, power, brightness, screen, etc.
Xbox Integration :
Apart from the general buzz surrounding Windows Phone, the Xbox business has been solid for Microsoft since the past few years, and user interest has rekindled with Kindle’s launch. It is heavily integrate gaming as an entertainment option within Windows 8.The Xbox Live interface within Windows 8 has a heavy dose of Metro and looks really silky.
SkyDrive :
SkyDrive with Windows8, you get to back up and sync your personal data on the cloud. It’s essentially Microsoft’s version of Apple’s iCloud. But there are inherently two apps for SkyDrive which work distinctly.  The first is a touch enabled app found on the Windows Store which allows third party developers to store Metro and app data onto the cloud drive.

The other version of SkyDrive is deployed across Windows Explorer like Dropbox – share a folder between users on different systems and files added to the folder will be incrementally updated and synced across devices and the largest file you can transfer using SkyDrive is 2 GB.
IES :
When Microsoft starts cramming two operating systems into one in Windows 8 ,  that’s when some problems start creeping in. you are left with not one but two different copies of Internet Explorer 10 – one tuned for the Metro UI and touch enabled navigation, and the other being the classic IE that we are all used in Windows PC.
Summary Of Features Of Windows 8
Metro UI works only on a 1024 * 768 screen resolution, nothing below that.
The age old Start button is gone.
Task manager is better, more comprehensive than ever before.
Can upgrade from Windows 7, no Windows XP support.
It supports Native USB 3.0.
Windows store for downloading apps.
Two new types of authentication added i.e PIN Login and drawing pictures.
When Computer is locked it displays a screen showing clock and notifications.
A new lock screen displays a clock and notifications while the computer is locked.
Features Removed From Windows 8
Start Menu has been removed.
Aero Glass theme has been replaced by a Metro style theme.
Microsoft Gadgets has been removed.
Windows Media Center will not be default.
