Matthew Charles “Matt” Mullenweg, is known as founding developer of WordPress which is the internet publishing platform used by more than 15% internet users, and yes we use it too ! He is an internet entrepreneur, musician, and a web developer with varied interests!

Early life of Matt Mullenweg

Matt Mullenweg was born on January 11, 1984 in Houston, Texas and attended University of Houston and majored in Political Science.
Mullenweg also attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and studied jazz saxophone.

The beginning of WordPress by Matt Mullenweg

The history started when Mullenweg was 18 years old and used the blog facility b2cafelog blog. He used blogs b2 to publish some photographs. Since that time, it came to Mullenweg’s mind to have something more creative and something more better and hence Mullenweg along with Valdrighi Michel (former developer b2) and Mike Little Matt began memgembangkan WordPress coding. And they together On May 27, 2003 released WordPress version 0.70 which still contains the same file structure with its predecessor, b2cafelog.

Career of Matt Mullenweg

Matt dropped his studies in 2004 to pursue job at CNET Networks
Later in 2005, he quit his job at CNET Networks and founded Automattic.
In December 2005 , Matt announced Automattic, which is the company behind WordPress.com and Akismet
In January 2009, San Francisco Business Times reported that the traffic to WordPress sites are growing faster than even Google’s Blogger, which was a big news in the internet community.
The history continued and later in April 2012, Pingdom reported that “WordPress completely dominated top 100 blogs” and is used by 49% of the top 100 blogs in the world.”
